Michael Dvorchak
Technical Manager of Advanced, Wood and Vinyl Coatings
Education: B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh
Area of Expertise: UV-cure and air cure coatings in both urethane acrylate and unsaturated polyesters; 1K and 2K waterborne and solventborne polyurethane coatings; development of 2K spray equipment for 2K water polyurethane and high solids 2K asparatate and aldimine chemistry coatings.
Interesting Fact: Mike contributed to Bayer Corporation's receipt of the 2000 U.S. Presidential Green Chemistry Award for the development of two-component waterborne technology for wood coatings. He also holds six patents in polyurethane coatings, has authored numerous peer-reviewed technical papers, and is a member of the Board of Directors of RadTech North America (an association of UV and radiation cure coating suppliers and users).

Education: B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh; post-graduate study in corrosion chemistry at Ohio State University and Lehigh University; post-graduate study in polymer development at Carnegie Mellon University
Area of Expertise: 29 years of experience in polyurethane chemistry with Bayer MaterialScience, and further experience in paint and coatings industry as a technical service manager and in the start-up of paint production manufacturing plants.
Paul Hoffman

Education: B.S. in chemistry from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan
Area of Expertise: Coatings formulation and testing, customer product questions, general technical service. Has almost 40 years experience in the coatings industry
Interesting Fact: Has a collection of more than 3,000 cactus plants in his greenhouse.
Stephanie Strazisar
Senior Associate Scientist
Education: B.S. in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Cornell University.
Area of Expertise: Strong polyurethane chemistry background, specializing in the area of adhesive raw materials including waterborne, 1-component, and reactive technologies. Special knowledge of high-throughput screening techniques for lab data generation which is useful for rapid response to specific customer inquiries.
Interesting Fact: Stephanie enjoys encouraging budding young scientists as a judge in local science fairs as part of Bayer's Making Science Make Sense™ program.
