Customer advice
Bayer experts from marketing,
business development and applications engineering can work with
you from the inital idea for an application to the start-up of
production. Knowing their way around the market, they can
advise on materials, help with the design of a component (for
example, through mold-flow analysis), and make suggestions on
part and mold design.
Research and
development
The research and development
team works to improve and enhance the overall properties of our
TPU materials. Another area of focus for the team is optimizing
processes and techniques and even discovering new ones.
Through cooperation with a number of partner companies, we have
been able to tailor our thermoplastic polyurethane materials for
a variety of purposes.
Our customers also profit
from the research work we carry out in anticipation of market
developments. One example is the new light-stable Desmopan
and Texin grades. These grades have become the material
of choice for TPU components where long-term, high-color stability
is required.
Technical service
laboratory
We can make available
virtually all of the machines and peripherals you are likely to
need for TPU processing - including the know-how of our experts.
For example, apart from conventional injection molding machines
and extruders, we also have facilities for blown film extrusion,
extrusion coating and co-extrusion. Equipment for overmolding
thermoplastics with soft grades of TPU plus a fully equipped laboratory
for powder slush applications are also available.
Testing
technology
In the Bayer MaterialScience
Thermoplastics Testing Centers (TTCs), customers can have approximately
200 different material tests performed, including tensile modulus
tests, fire tests, heat-aging tests, and a variety of tests on
finished components. Our full service package also covers
the production of test specimens.
The TTCs are certified
according to testing agencies in the countries in which Bayer
operates.
