Mold Concerns
Place ejector pins away from the inside corners (see figure). The air-gap clearance surrounding ejector pins in corners acts as an insulator and hinders heat flow out of the corner. The part can also be distorted while being removed from the mold. Parts need to have adequate draft to release easily from the mold. The combined contact area of the ejection system must be large enough to distribute ejection forces and avoid localized distortion. Difficult-to-eject features may require dedicated ejector pins, sleeves, or rails to prevent distortion during ejection.
