Polyisocyanates for reactive systems
Bayer's Desmodur® L, N and Mondur® MR and MRS are polyisocyanate raw materials which, when used in combination with Bayer's polyether polyols (Acclaim®, Multranol® and Arcol®), produce reactive Adhesives and Specialties.
Properties: The above Desmodur® grades differ from one another with regard to their isomer composition. The Mondur® MR and MRS ranges contain higher-functional isomer contents with a functionality above 2. The result is an optimized, controlled reactivity with polyols, thus eliminating the need for the otherwise complicated process of coordinating the reaction parameters. The variability of the Desmodur® and Mondur® grades makes it possible to formulate adhesives that can be optimized with regard to bond flexibility, specific adhesion to a variety of substrates, durability of the bond and curing speed.
Uses:
The above-mentioned Desmodur® and Mondur® grades are ideal for the production of adhesives for timber structures, for example for the bonding of panels and parquet flooring. In addition, heavy-duty floor coverings are frequently bonded with two-component polyurethane adhesives based on Desmodur® and Bayer polyols.
