Polychloroprene dispersions for waterborne adhesives
The Dispercoll® C grades are aqueous dispersions of polychloroprene
(poly[2-chlorobutadiene-1,3]) with a high solids content.
Properties: The Dispercoll® C grades differ with
respect to their crystallization rate and gel content. What they all
have in common, however, is a long open time, high initial strength
and good coagulating power.
Uses: Dispercoll® C grades with longer open times and low
thermoplasticity are used for bonds requiring particularly high heat
resistance. Grades with a strong tendency to crystallization are used
wherever high initial strength and rapid curing are essential. A typical
example is in the bonding of floor coverings.
Advantages:
- Long open time
- Rapid increase in the strength of the bonds
- Freedom from combustible and environmentally unfriendly organic
solvents
