Profile Extrusion
BMS produces several resins suitable for profile extrusion. The extrusion process for profiles is similar to sheet extrusion. The resin is fed into an extruder which melts the material and forces it through a die that gives it the desired shape. Additional processing is necessary to give the extruded profile its final contours. Depending on the application, profiles may be punched or may have printing applied.
The applications for extruded profiles include interior and exterior products, such as:
- Electrical components
- Cable raceways
- Automotive parts
- Trim parts
- Corner guards
- Housings
- Fairings
- Frames
Each product line consists of general-purpose as well as specialty grades, enabling you to choose the performance properties best suited for your application. Using Bayer resins for profile extrusion has several advantages:
