Bayblend ET 1000

Introduction

Bayer MaterialScience strives for continuous improvement in its products. This includes formulation and manufacturing changes that result in better and more consistent physical and appearance properties, as well as improved processing.

Bayblend® is the Bayer MaterialScience trademark for its product class of amorphous thermoplastic polymer blends based on polycarbonate and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS).

Bayblend® ET1000 resin is a mineral-filled thermoplastic blend of polycarbonate and ABS resins developed for extrusion and thermoforming applications where rigidity and toughness are needed. The balance of mechanical and thermal properties allows Bayblend ET1000 PC/ABS to be thermoformed within a wide processing window in deep draw tools without distortion.

This grade of resin has shown excellent impact properties, which allows the material to be used in transportation applications, such as recreational vehicle (RV) doors and bumpers, heavy truck doors and fascias, and boat housings and decks. Bayblend ET1000 resin is suitable to replace fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) and metal in many of these applications.
