Impact strength and tensile modulus properties provide insight into a plastic material's basic mechanical nature.
- Generally high impact strength coupled with large tensile modulus suggests a tough material.
- High impact strength and small tensile modulus indicate a ductile, flexible material.
- Low impact strength and large tensile modulus typify a brittle material.
The multi axial impact strength of Bayblend ET1000 resin, according to the ASTM D 3763 test method at 73°F, is 48 joules. At -30°F, the impact strength is 51 joules.
